See Listen to podcasts on all your devices. Open Podcasts for me. In the Podcasts app on your Mac, click Listen Now (or any item) in the sidebar. You can save episodes to your library, and download specific episodes so you can play them when you’re not connected to the internet, even if you don’t follow the show.

Save or download an individual episode

  1. In the Podcasts app on your Mac, search to find podcasts, or click a category below Apple Podcasts in the sidebar.

  2. To save an episode to your library, hold the pointer over the episode, then do one of the following:

    • Click the Save button .

    • Click the More button , then choose Save Episode.

    Note: You may need to select a show to see its episodes.

  3. To download the episode to your library, hold the pointer over the episode, then do one of the following:

    • Click the Download button .

    • Click the More button , then choose Download Episode.

You can automatically download episodes when you save them. See Change Advanced preferences.

Turn on automatic downloads

You can automatically download new or unplayed episodes for shows you follow.

  • In the Podcasts app on your Mac, choose Podcasts > Preferences, click General, then make sure Automatic Downloads is selected.

Remove an episode you saved

You can remove an episode from your Saved list.

  • In the Podcasts app on your Mac, click Saved below Library in the sidebar, then do one of the following to remove an individual episode:

    • Hold the pointer over an episode, then click the Unsave button .

    • Click the More button , then choose Unsave Episode.

Tip: You can remove more than one episode at a time. To select multiple episodes that are next to each other, click the first item you want to select, press and hold the Shift key, then click the last item. To select multiple episodes that aren’t next to each other, press and hold the Command key, then click the items. Control-click a selected episode, then choose Unsave Episode from the shortcut menu.

Remove a downloaded episode

You can remove a downloaded episode to delete it from your computer.

  • In the Podcasts app on your Mac, click Downloaded below Library in the sidebar, then do one of the following to remove an individual episode:

    • Hold the pointer over an episode, then click the Remove Download button .

    • Click the More button , then choose Remove Download.

You can automatically delete episodes that you’ve already listened to. See Change Advanced preferences.

Remove multiple downloaded episodes

You can remove multiple downloaded episodes at the same time to delete them from your computer.

In the Podcasts app on your Mac, click Downloaded below Library in the sidebar on the left, then do one of the following:

  • Delete all downloaded episodes for a show: Hold the pointer over the show, click the More button , then click Remove Downloads.

  • Delete specific episodes: Select the show that contains the episodes you want to delete, then select the specific episodes. Control-click a selected episode, click the More button , then choose Remove Download from the shortcut menu.
